Random Facts About Me
Hello to all!! Welcome to Random Facts About Me…
My name is Kristy Edgar. I am the mama to 3 beautiful humans and the wife of Mr Scott Edgar, the woodworking genius behind Esse Customs. I adore these humans and find that time with them is among my most favorite things in the world. My husband keeps me from taking things too seriously and my children have taught me to find joy in the moment. I am humbled by them all often as God reminds me that even though I long for control it is He who calls the shots. The only control I truly have is over myself. This has been the hardest lesson for me to learn in my life so far. (**More on this in a later blog)
My first love was the ocean! Listening to the waves crashing on the shore with the sand between my toes and the sunshine warming my skin brings a kind of zen that soothes my soul. As I have grown and travelled, I have discovered this same feeling arises whenever I am surrounded by all the facets of nature. Earth, wind, water and fire. I believe these elements to be grounding and essential for superior health.
Louis Armstrong said “music is life itself”. Music has the ability to penetrate deep into your soul and is an expression beyond words that can transcend time and space. Music has the ability to change your state of mind. This is why you will often find me with the music blasted having a dance party in my kitchen as I cook or clean. It’s also why I have seen over 200 concerts and why I will entertain (for short periods) the music my kids choose. Music has this incredible ability to make everything more fun. And I do love fun.
I live on a farm. Not a true working farm but we have 33 acres. We have woods and a creek. We have 10ish acres of hay for the horses my father in law used to have and there are a few trees left of an orchard that was once on the property. I plan to restore that orchard starting this spring and I have a garden of raised beds that I love to grow fresh produce in during the summer. You can say I am embracing country life. Even though I feel like a country girl in my heart, I grew up in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. The opposite of country. I lived in a suburban neighborhood where just about everyone had swimming pools. I spent the majority of my life swimming, riding my bike and climbing the big rubber tree in my front yard so I could sit in it to read. There were THREE high schools in my city! My graduating class was the smallest with roughly 700! That’s a far cry from where I am now. My daughter’s class is one of the biggest at her K-12 school with 73ish kids. To say I was culture shocked when I moved here would be an understatement. BUT this area, my space….it affords me the opportunity to pursue sustainable living which is something I value highly. As much as I love the ocean and I miss it terribly on occasion, I wouldn’t trade this farm life for anything. The more I learn; the more I do; the more I try; the more I realize this is the place I was born to be and I could be more excited to see where God leads me and my family.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I think it’s important for you all to know there’s so much more to me than just my passion for health and wellness.
