Garlic

Garlic has been used for thousands of years as a health remedy, with records dating back as far as 5000 years siting it’s benefits as a medicine. Garlic has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-fungal benefits making it one of the most effective immunity-boosting herbs.

Ginger

Ginger is referred to medicinally as a diaphoretic which means it can induce sweating. This feature makes ginger highly effective when it comes to relieving flu symptoms or breaking a fever. Ginger can be consumed as a spice in meals or in the form of tea. It is highly effective at relieving the symptoms of a sore throat, especially when crushed and mixed with hot water that can be sipped or gargled with.

Citrus(lemon, limes, oranges)

LOADED with vitamin C which boosts the immune system and may reduce the duration of a cold. Also good a loosening mucus.

Horseradish

A spicy root that is chocked full of vitamin C but also contains compounds like sulforaphane and isothiocyanate that are known to clear up one’s congestion.

*It is recommended to avoid consuming horseradish in excessive amounts if one is struggling with any gastrointestinal or kidney-related disorders.

Cayenne Peppers

Ironically capsicum can “put out the fire” of sore throat and cough, is a powerful congestion clearer and can suppress the growth of fungus in the microbiome.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Used for leg cramps, sore throat, fungal infection, stomach problems and weight loss to name a few. Give it a google search and read all about how this natural remedy can be used

Raw Honey

There a list of things raw honey can be used for but in this case, discussing cold & flu, honey is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and a great home remedy for coughing. Local honey is also a powerful allergy medicine!!! Give that a google too. Or find a local beekeeper who can share all the magical medicinal properties of this “liquid gold”
